Community policing 2021

There are many reasons why Community Policing has not lived-up to its name. This course is not designed to point out strategies that have failed in the past. With Community Policing in 2021, we set new standards and expectations for citizen-police interaction. Community Policing is clearly defined and will be consistent while at the same time, being situational. The primary duty owed to your citizenry is to protect and serve, this should not be watered-down or negated. However, in an effort to promote cooperation, consideration, and understanding of police/citizen relations, Community Policing must have a set of guidelines that remain consistent with the participation promoted by law enforcement personal assigned to this process. At some level, all officers should be involved in community policing. We will show you strategies that promote trust from your citizenry, and also promotes understanding of law enforcement's primary objectives. In some cases, officers involved in Community Policing, share strategic and obvious information to other aspects of the department which can and does result in the arrest and/or inquiries of citizens involved. Though this contributes to the erosion of trust, with citizens, especially when entail has come from citizens, officers cannot turn a blinds-eye or overlook illegal activity. This process is resolved with strategies offered in this course.
