PREA Standard 115.34
Historically, there has been very limited investigator training that is corrections‐specific. While many experienced investigators have gained valuable skills from law enforcement training, this standard acknowledges the need for training specific to the corrections environment. The Advanced PREA Certification Training Course is a precursor to Investigator Certification. This training is designed to address the requirements of this standard. Any state and local police involved in these investigations are also included in the requirements of this standard. This course was designed for Investigations in Confinement settings. Resources for this training included the PREA Resource Center, and the Department Of Justice.
